Prep School

DT lessons provide the opportunity for creativity in the midst of a busy curriculum. 

Pupils can pursue their interests in electronics, robotics, resistant materials and food technology in our specialist DT Block which has a workshop and art and craft rooms, including pottery. Pupils compete regularly in STEM competitions against other schools alongside competing in the First Lego League for robotics. 

We also have a fully equipped kitchen area with 5 work stations alongside the Main House Kitchen where children can try out their culinary skills. The Master Chef Competition is popular, challenging and, for the most part, delicious! Pupils are put into a rota which means they can do all the activities over the year and develop their dexterity in different areas.

Pupils have secured scholarships and awards for their work at their choice of senior school and it is hoped that they will use the skills developed at Barnardiston to take them to GCSE and beyond.
