Cricket
Our U13 Boys and Girls have teams which play 11-a-side hard-ball cricket (with protective equipment), and at U11 we have transitional cricket where players graduate to hard-ball once they are technically proficient and confident with an intermediate weight ball. Our U11 Girls and U9 squads learn the game with soft ball and play ‘Kwik Cricket’ which does not necessitate protective equipment.
Barnardiston has hard
all-weather cricket nets where children are coached with hard-ball and a
bowling machine and the rest of the squads alternate between practising
‘in the middle’ on Barnardiston’s artificial wicket and on the astroturf
which allows squads to enjoy fielding drills and match practice.
